Gegenbild
[Counter-image]
site-specific light installation, 2017

“The characteristic small round window of a mansion house becomes a source of eternal light. A slowly pulsating beam of light shoots towards the sky when the night falls in Hessenburg.

Instead of projecting an image (Bild), the light beam in the installation Gegenbild dissolves in the surrounding space.
Mimicking the aesthetic quality of lighthouses, it does not serve as a navigational aid in the middle of the North-German farmlands. Rather, it hints at a parallel geography, hiding in the distance.”
